Bat Policies and Procedures
Upon recommendations from the City of Philadelphia, ASA Softball Umpires, MSSC Management and area leagues we are reevaluating legal/illegal bats in our league.
As seasons past, there will be:
1. NO COMPOSITE BATS OF ANY KIND
- DeMarini and Anderson bats will be heavily scrutinized before determining legality. We strongly suggest not using these bats in our league. The level of competition and fields we play on are not equipt for these types of bats.
- DeMarini White Steel bats are banned, all makes and models.
- Miken bats - all makes and models are banned from our league.
2. NO DOUBLE WALL BATS
3. MUST BE ASA APPROVED, WITH ASA STAMP VISIBLE ON BAT - Some bats do have a seal that have been reevaluated and are non-approved.
4. NO DOCTORED, ALTERED BATS, HOMEMADE BATS - ASA umpires have the final say on all bat decisions at time of game.

Wooden bats are permitted in our league.
**Umpires/Coordinators will see to it that all bats are checked prior to the start of each game. ONLY CHECKED BATS MAY BE IN PLAY DURING YOUR GAME.**
Consequences to using an illegal bat:
Entering the cage with an illegal bat (deemed illegal by the league policies and/or the official present at that game) can result in an immediate out.
Use of an illegal bat during game with disregard to checked bats and policies (deemed illegal by the league policies and/or the official present at that game) can result in an ejection.
