Outdoor Soccer

5 – 5 Outdoor Soccer Rules (6 - 6 with a goalie)

  1. Two 20 minute halves, 5 minute halftime
  2.  Subs made on any dead ball
  3.  Each team must have at least four (4) players to start a game
  4.  Minimum of two (2) girls playing per team at all time, guy-girl ratio must be 3-1. Female player can be goalie.
  5.  Field Dimensions: 60 yds x 30 yds
  6. NO OFFSIDES
  7. NO SLIDE TACKLING/PLAYING THE BALL WHILE LYING ON THE FIELD, players can be warned/ejected at officials determination
  8. No throw ins, instead it will be a direct kick where the ball went out.  (There will still be corners and goal kicks
  9. Goals can be scored from anywhere on the field.
  10. Player walls must be at least 5 yards away
  11. ALL FREE KICKS ARE INDIRECT (must touch another player on the kicking team before scoring)
  12. No metal cleats

PLAYOFF TIES

If a playoff game ends in a tie there will be an additional 10 min period of sudden death. If after that 10min period, the game is still tied there will be a best of 5 shoot-out until there is a winner (away team kicks first.)

CREASE RULE

  1. Crease is where no player can play the ball, 5 yards out from the end line and 3 yards out from each goal post along the end line.
  2. If offensive player plays the ball it is a goal kick.
  3. If defensive player plays the ball, a spot/penalty kick is awarded 8 yards out.
  4. No scoring in crease, no dribbling in crease, no defensive standing in crease.
  5. Passing through the crease is allowed.
